Who is Isibeal - she has a very alluring name and the grub ain't bad either.
Its reminds me of 'The Caff' in Eastenders. Its the place to go in Belfast if you are after a good sit down on a plastic chair with a fat burger and chips and a coke for next to nothing. Or a big mug of tea with no fancy pants-ness involved.
I like a good plate of stodge for my lunch and went here recently with some friends and family. The little girl who was with us was running all about the place but nobody looked down their noses. We had huge portions and I really felt full up when I left.
This ain't your Haute Cuisine or your tapas, this is good solid honest to goodness food served by the salt of the earth Belfast ladies. -

Usually hit Brights and now I know why. You would think they would actually compete with the place next door-but don't. 'Jumbo fry' sounded good.... I am yet to see anything jumbo. 1 piece of bacon went supposedly meant to be 2, dirty cutlery and a cup of coffee that is like an espresso... Never again will I be back. 2 stars for simply not poisoning me. I think this is one of those greasey spoons that u try once, then never again. Be warned.... Oh, paid 8 quid for that experience, not a great start to the day

This place has been around for as long as I remember. I used to love going in on a Thursday night (late night shopping in Belfast).
Nowadays, I don't go in so much, but you know those times when you just need a fry? Or a good burger and chips? Well Isibeals is perfect for those times!
Don't expect earth-moving food, but go in for a good feed and you won't come out disappointed! -

Over the years I've eaten in here a couple of times and I've only ever found the experience pretty average. The food is not exactly earth shattering, the tables are poxy and have that greasiness to them I detest and there's something about the whole thing I find a bit depressing.
Having said that I do enjoy the friendly staff and the food portions are great, if not exactly the healthiest. Amongst the usual fried stuff they also do quite nice grills and have a selection of oven bakes and pies. Unlike most places it's very family friendly and even have a 'little Isi' menu for kids so full credit to them for that.
Pros: Families welcome.
Cons: Food isn't earth shattering. -

I really have very little to say about this place that will put in it a good light but I feel I need to be honest. I went in here for some lunch whilst wondering around town and didn't want to wait in the queues to get into the busy places like Brights. This place was empty but we didn't think to much of that, but clearly it was for a reason. I got the bacon cheese burger and was very much grossed out by the bacon. It was badly cooked, almost raw in fact, but that wasn't the worst thing. The worst thing was the very thick black hair on the bacon. It they buy bacon with something as off putting on that, the least the could have done was trim it off and leave me in blissful ignorance!
